Earlier this year, French street artist JR received the TED Prize — which in previous years has been awarded to Karen Armstrong (leading to her Charter for Compassion initiative) and to Jamie Oliver, among others.

The TED Prize is designed to leverage the TED community’s exceptional array of talent and resources. It is awarded annually to an exceptional individual who receives $100,000 and, much more important, “One Wish to Change the World.” After several months of preparation, s/he unveils his/her wish at an award ceremony held during the TED Conference. These wishes have led to collaborative initiatives with far-reaching impact.

JR’s wish to change the world was:

I wish for you to stand up for what you care about by participating in a global art project, and together we’ll turn the world… INSIDE OUT.

And Dharma/Arte has been invited by JR’s team to be a partner in this global project — leading initiatives in São Paulo, Brazil, and possibly in other locations too. We’re excited by this, and would like to invite all of you to participate. We’re working on this project from the scratch, so there are many ways to get involved.

Here’s a trailer of JR’s INSIDE OUT Project:

We’re organizing groups in São Paulo (Brazil). The different stages of the project are planned to happen between March and July 2012 (date subject to change). There are many ways to get involved. Learn more.
